Help Center
Practical guidance for discovering medical travel options, contacting providers and preparing for a healthcare journey to China.
Finding Care and Comparing Programs
Understand what the platform displays before selecting a provider.
How to search for a medical travel program
- Open the Medical Services page.
- Select the relevant treatment or medical specialty.
- Review the destination, provider profile and program inclusions.
- Shortlist suitable programs before sending an inquiry.
How to compare providers safely
Compare business identity, experience, contact details, included services, exclusions, payment terms and cancellation policies. Ask the provider to identify the hospital and doctor involved, but remember that availability must be confirmed by the medical institution.
How to use hospital and specialty information
Hospital profiles and specialty rankings can help with preliminary research, but they are not personal medical recommendations. A highly ranked hospital may not treat every condition or accept every international case.
Submitting and Managing an Inquiry
Provide enough information for a meaningful preliminary response.
Information to include in your inquiry
- Your diagnosis or main medical concern
- Preferred Chinese city, if any
- Expected travel dates and length of stay
- Previous treatment and current medication
- Required translation, accommodation or transport support
- Whether a family member will accompany you
Preparing medical records
Prepare clear scans of reports and retain the original files. Imaging should preferably include DICOM data rather than screenshots alone. Use English or Chinese translations when requested, and remove unrelated personal information.
Reviewing a provider's proposal
Check the proposed hospital, appointment status, estimated medical cost, provider service fee, accommodation, transportation, translation, payment schedule, refund rules and circumstances that may change the final price. Request corrections in writing before paying.
Reporting inaccurate or suspicious information
Do not pay or send additional records if a listing appears misleading, guarantees a cure or requests payment through an unrelated account. Save relevant screenshots and contact MedCIC with the listing URL and an explanation of the concern.
Preparing for Travel to China
Confirm medical and travel arrangements before departure.
Before booking flights
- Obtain written confirmation of the appointment or assessment.
- Confirm passport validity and current visa requirements.
- Ask your doctor whether you are medically fit to fly.
- Review insurance coverage and pre-authorization requirements.
- Use flexible travel and accommodation bookings where possible.
What to bring to the hospital
Bring your passport, appointment confirmation, original medical records, imaging files, pathology materials if requested, medication list, allergy information, emergency contacts and an accepted payment method. Keep essential medication in its original packaging.
Language and communication support
Confirm in advance whether the hospital or provider supplies a professional medical interpreter. Do not rely solely on automatic translation for consent forms, diagnosis, medication instructions or major treatment decisions.
Emergency and post-treatment planning
Know the nearest emergency department and call 120 for an emergency in China. Before returning home, obtain discharge records, prescriptions, reports, imaging files and a follow-up schedule. Confirm that you are medically fit to travel.
Help for China-Based Service Providers
Publish clear, accurate and useful medical travel information.
Creating a trustworthy provider profile
Use your registered business name, accurate contact details, service locations and a clear explanation of your role. Do not present your company as a hospital or claim an official hospital partnership without authorization.
Writing a complete program listing
State the target patient, destination, expected duration, included support, exclusions, preliminary price basis and required medical records. Explain that admission and treatment remain subject to hospital review.
Medical claims and treatment outcomes
Do not promise a cure, guaranteed admission or guaranteed outcome. Clearly separate confirmed hospital services from optional travel support and services provided by third parties.
Updating or correcting a listing
Sign in to manage your published listings. Update prices, contact details and availability promptly. If you cannot edit important inaccurate information, unpublish the listing and contact platform support.
